Monument Valley - An Iconic Movie Landscape

This unique part of Utah has been the setting of numerous western and popular Hollywood movies. Magnificent rocky buttes rise up from the flat desert soil and together they create one of the most recognizable landscape silhouettes.

I visited Monument Valley during the winter season in December which is a lovely time to visit because there are hardly any tourists around. I mean, who want's to visit the desert when it's snowing and freezing? Right?

The rocks and soil are intensely red of color and the snow made the landscape look a little bit less harsh. Definitely a perfect time to travel here to enjoy the quietness of the desert.
